I think that I need to start making more of an effort to look nicer at work and just in general. I hardly ever wear make-up, and I almost never straighten or fix my hair anymore.
Part of this is because I get up so early, and I don't feel like doing anything besides brushing my teeth and throwing on some clothes. In other words, I am lazy.
Last night, I started a women's small group with some girls from church. I only knew one of the people in my small group, and all the other ladies are a little bit older with kids and what-not. So, we started off by going around in a circle and introducing ourselves to everyone. I told everyone my name and that I recently finished my master's degree and got married, and so now I'm here living in Houston and starting the next part of my life! They all told me that I do not look old enough to have done all that stuff already, I look like I'm still in high school, blah blah.
Although, the fact that I had just come from the gym, so my hair was pulled back in a pony tail and I didn't have any make-up on probably didn't help my case any, but then I thought, well I don't ever wear make-up...
So anyway, today before work I straightened my hair, AND put on make-up! Who knows, maybe this will become a commonplace morning activity for me from now on!
What I would really like to start doing is waking up at 4:30 and taking a quick 30 minute jog to wake myself up, then getting in for a quick shower before I leave to go to work in the mornings. But seeing as how I don't ever get to sleep until 10:30-11:00, this will probably never happen because I need at least 6-7 hours of sleep in order not to be dead the next day.
So the moral of the story is that it's time for me to start making more of an effort to start looking more appropriate for my age and for my workplace!
So lets hope I can make that happen...
6-7 hours of sleep! oh man, ive got to have at least 8, 9 on the weekends :)
