Today, I realized that I have been eating a lot of crap for the past few days. This is always what happens to me when I am living on my own. I start out doing somewhat OK, eating sandwiches at home every night, taking lunch with me instead of going somewhere and spending more money, bringing yogurt or an apple to work for breakfast in the morning.
Then I slowly break into the habit of not eating breakfast, 'occasionally' eating something unhealthy like Taco Bell or McDonald's for dinner at 9:00PM... Then the next thing I know, I'm eating that crap two to three times a week!
It is definitely time for me to start keeping track of what I eat again. Because I do NOT want to gain weight like I did in college. Especially because I sit behind a desk all day long, not doing much physical activity.
Diet and Exercise, Diet and Exercise, Diet and Exercise...
And when I say diet, I'm not talking about going on a diet, I'm just saying that it's important to think about what you eat. I don't like restricting myself to not be able to eat certain foods all the time, because it makes me want to have it even more!
And we all know that I can not say no to a cookie.
In other news, I started my Beth Moore Bible Study tonight! I think that I'm going to like this one. For the introductory lesson, Beth took us through some of the genealogy of the Bible. She talks about so many interesting little facts and things that I would never have thought about, or bothered to look into if not for this study.
She really looks at every word in the Bible as she reads it, and she shows how every little word is significant.
For instance, in Genesis (I can't remember exactly what chapter off the top of my head) after Adam and Eve are banished from the Garden of Eden, the Bible says that God placed an angel guarding the Eastern gate of the garden.
Later on in Genesis (chapter 11), it says that as the people of the world continued to move Eastward, and they decided to build a glorious city, and build a tower to the heavens to make a name for themselves, instead of obeying God and bringing Him glory.
So as the people continued to move East, they were moving farther away from God, and God did not like it! So he confused everyone's language so they couldn't understand each other, which meant they couldn't finish the tower and they scattered to all parts of the Earth.
Anyway, the point is that I think I'm going to learn a LOT, and I am so glad that I get to be in a Bible study again!
Also, no updates on who hit my car. But I am praying that whoever did it comes forward and does the right thing! I'm going to try to get some quotes this weekend of what it will cost to fix the door. Not looking forward to someone telling me how expensive it will be to fix something that was SO NOT MY FAULT on my BRAND NEW CAR. (And I still haven't even made a payment on yet...)
But I'm not upset about it or anything. (Can anyone say SARCASM??)
Good for you! I hope you can buckle down and stay healthy. You've been doing such a great job, and you look great! I need to do better with my diet and exercise. I think the opposite of you, that living with my parents seems to be sabotaging my diet... haha. Or maybe that's just an excuse =P
ReplyDeleteYeah, I actually bought some fruit at the grocery store the other day! Today went good and I actually ate some of it, so we'll see how it goes tomorrow...
ReplyDeleteI wish I was still living at home. Sometimes my mom tells me what they're having for dinner and it makes me sad because I don't cook anything here because I'm too lazy.
