Today, at the end of work I got great news! I will be moving down to the 6th floor with the rest of the structural engineering department! I currently sit on the 7th floor which isn't bad because I have a lot of room up there, but I would like to be closer to the people that can answer my questions when I need help, which since I am just starting out, is frequently.
And the best part is that I get to be in an office! It's a corner office so it's really big. The plan is to have 3 people sit in there, but right now there is just me and another guy named Michael.
In other news, this past weekend was excellent! I went home for the weekend and had an appointment with the lady that will be making my wedding cake! We met at the local Denison Braums to discuss the plans. Classy, right? ;) Anyway, I think the cake will be very pretty. It's going to be ivory, and classic looking. The only thing I'm a little bit bummed out about is the flavor. I didn't want to go with plain vanilla, but my mom thought it would be nice because 'everyone likes vanilla.' In the end, it is just cake, and I doubt that anyone will remember what it tastes like (but we did get to sample the vanilla, and it's GOOD).
Other than that, I got to eat a sandwich from the Green Market, which I have MISSED, a lot. And, I got some shopping done (I had some store credit at Ross that I needed to take care of). And, me and Cody went with our friend Charis to see Thor, a very good movie. Me and Cody even got to go visit with his friend Todd and his wife Cassie which he has been wanting me to do with him for a long time.
Then, on Sunday, I woke up early and went to church with Brandi and Cody, and then my dad cooked some steaks out on the grill for lunch since it was Mother's Day.
YUM.
OH OH OH, I forgot the most important part of the weekend.
I was THIS close to buying a new car! I wanted to do it soooooo bad; however, my dad and Rachel talked me out of it because they both think that I can find a better deal in Houston.
Which means I'm buying a car this weekend!!
i got 3/4 of the way through that post and thought "surely stephanie didn't forget to mention she test drove a car!?!" but you threw it in at at the end so thats good :)
