Taste of Texas

Last night Cody and I decided to go on a fancy date. We decided on this date that we will do a fancy date night once a quarter. Our first one was back in August for our 1 year wedding anniversary when we went out to Brenner's Steakhouse.

This time we went to Taste of Texas. We started out with cocktails and the salad bar which was pretty good. They have these big blocks of cheese and you can scrape off your own fresh to put on your salad! That part was pretty neat. There was also warm bread and cinnamon butter...can we say YUM?

For our entree, we got to pick out our own New York Strip which is a 16 ounce steak (Cody and I split one). Cody got a side of asparagus with some kind of sauce on top, and I got a baked sweet potato with cinnamon butter and pecans on top.

The steak comes out on these hot plates in the shape of a cow drenched in a sauce of your choice (we chose herb garlic butter). It's like you're actually digging into the cow...haha, but it was fun anyway!



So good.

And of course, for dessert, we got a slice of Snicker's Pie.
